This policy sets out how The FoodPath NZ Limited (TFPNZ), a travel guide publisher based in New Zealand, will collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information.  By using the TFPNZ website or any TFPNZ mobile application, you consent to this policy.

Collecting personal information

We collect personal information about you from:

  • you, when you provide, or consent to the provision of, that personal information to us, including via the TFPNZ website, any TFPNZ mobile application, and any related service, through any registration or subscription process, through any contact with us, or when you buy or use our services and products - this includes information such as your name and email address and, if you have consented to it on any TFPNZ mobile application, anonymised location specific information (so that, for example, we can show you where New Zealand food places are near to you)

  • third parties, where you have authorised this or the information is publicly available

We do not collect information about individuals, except where it is specifically and knowingly provided by them.  

We also sometimes get information automatically - for example, we compile aggregate technical data about the TFPNZ website site, and any TFPNZ mobile application, traffic and interaction, only so that we can review the use and operation of our site and mobile applications, and can offer better experiences and tools in the future.  The technical data compiled includes anonymised details such as your IP address, page views, and information about the type of device that you use to interact with our site or mobile applications.  

To do this on our website, we use cookies (an alphanumeric identifier that we transfer to your computer’s hard drive so that we can recognise your browser) to monitor your use of the TFPNA website.  You may disable cookies by changing the settings on your browser, although this may mean that you cannot use all of the features of the TFPNZ website.

You may also disable any location specific information provided to us through any TFPNZ mobile application by changing the location access settings for the application in settings on your own mobile device.

We do not receive any of your payment information when you purchase any TFPNZ mobile application.

We use your personal information:

  • to market our services and products to you, including contacting you electronically

  • to improve the services and products that we provide to you

  • to bill you and collect money that you owe us

  • to communicate with you, and to respond to communications from you

We may disclose your personal information to:  

  • any business that supports our services and products, including any person that hosts or maintains any underlying system that we use to provide the TFPNZ website, any TFPNZ mobile application or other services and products, and we have no control over their privacy policies

A business that supports our services and products may be located outside New Zealand.  This may mean your personal information is held and processed outside New Zealand, and the legal privacy protections available in other countries may be different.

We make every effort to provide you with links to high-quality, reputable sites, but they are not under our day-to-day control.  When you click through to these sites, you leave the area controlled by us.
