12 high street, waipawa, hawke’s bay
look at what you’ll see on our food trail guide…
Why: We visited, on the recommendation of a local on the street, who said we simply had to go in… and were rather taken by the hot lamb and the cold lamb options on the menu… but went for a classic cheese scone in the end. Scones like Nola made, just as the sign says!
What’s more: This is (generally) a daytime eatery, serving some spot on New Zealand fare. We loved the vibe, and the Ode to Nola, the inspiration behind this gorgeous country town cafe.
What else: One good thing to do here - there’s a famous and fabulous butcher just down the road, also on this app. Definitely a spot that carnivores would enjoy calling into.
